An event held last Friday, May 17, which brought together major institutional, business and social leaders in Andalusia and which aims to recognize and honor the most influential Andalusian women in various fields, thus raising the business and cultural value of the region.
Welcome day
The edition began on Thursday, May 16 with a guided tour of the Alhambra in Granada, the emblematic city that has been chosen as the meeting point for this important event. During the cocktail dinner at the emblematic Alhambra Palace Hotel in Granada, Forbes Women unveiled the list of The 100 Most Influential Women in Andalusia 2024, paving the way for the first edition of the Forbes Women Summit in Andalusia.
Day of experiences and women's leadership
During the morning of Friday, May 17, the meeting featured an extensive agenda of inspiring talks and colloquiums such as:
- Andalusian women, i+i+i leadership: innovative, inclusive and unstoppable, by the mayoress of Granada, Marifrán Carazo.
- Andalusian women, inspiring women: Why this commitment to female leadership in Granada? Conversation between Marifrán Carazo, mayor of Granada, and Gloria Lomana, president of 50&50 GL and president of the advisory board of Forbes Women.
- Women leaders for the economic development of Andalusia, with the opinion of Rocío Medina, president of Grupo Medina; Melanie Durth, R&D+Projects director of the Andalusia Aerospace Business Cluster; and Rosa Siles, advisor and mentor for companies, startups and governmental entities, and will be moderated by Vera Bercovitz, Head of Content at Forbes Women.
- Hand to hand: keys to the business projection of Andalusian companies, with Fátima Báñez, president of the CEOE Foundation, and Gloria Lomana, president of 50&50 GL and president of the advisory board of Forbes Women.
- Andalusia, a cultural reference centre, moderated by Marta Suárez, editor of Forbes Women, and the vision of Lourdes Moreno, artistic director of the Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga and Tania Fábrega, director of the Museo de Almería.
- Andalusia in the race for technological development and digital transformation with Paloma Simón, Manager of Google's Cybersecurity Engineering Centre.
- Communication, an essential tool in leadership, with the vision of Isabel Cabrera, deputy director of Canal Sur, and Lola Quero, director of Granada Hoy.
- Entrepreneurship from experience, with the views of Laura Pérez, founder and director of Lausett; Sheila Hernández, founder of Es.decirDiario; and Alicia Beatriz García Alférez, member of the Governing Council of Covirán.
In addition to the main presentations, the event featured artists such as Clara Montes, voice and double bass, who provided the musical note with her performance.
