Cuerva installs electric vehicle charging stations at the CajaGranada Cultural Centre
Cuerva, together with CajaGranada Fundación, implements charging points for electric vehicles in the city of Granada.
The electricity that will power the vehicles at the charging stations will also be 100% green, entirely generated by the photovoltaic cells that will soon be installed on the Cultural Centre’s roof.
Electric vehicles (EVs) have been a reality for some time now. They are clean, quiet, totally free of gas emissions, help to advance the green economy and are more environmentally-friendly than thermal-engine vehicles. They do, however, require designated charging points.
Cuerva has worked with CajaGranada Fundación to implement charging points for electric cars in the city of Granada, specifically outside the emblematic CajaGranada Cultural Centre located at Avenida de la Ciencia 2. These points are available for use by the public in two parking spaces fully-equipped for charging electric vehicles.
100% green energy to build the best energy solutions.
A unique feature of this project is that the electricity powering the cars at both charging points will come entirely from the photovoltaic cells that Cuerva is in the process of installing on the roof of the CajaGranada Cultural Centre.
According to Ignacio Cuerva, CEO of Cuerva, “providing the best energy solutions means innovating to build a brighter future for our customers and the planet. We are very proud to work hand in hand with CajaGranada Fundación to improve the services available to the people of Granada while working together on solutions that lead to a sustainable energy transition”, he added.
These chargers have a power capacity of 44 kW, thus enabling vehicles to charge in Mode 3 – the fastest mode available for self-charging by private vehicles – and provide simultaneous charging for two vehicles.
To the President of CajaGranada Fundación, María Elena Martín-Vivaldi, “It is a great pleasure to be able to provide the citizens of Granada with a service of this kind. Environmental protection forms part of CajaGranada Fundación’s DNA and using new technologies as a way to reduce human impact on the planet is an indispensable line of action.“
Cutting-edge technology
The chargers feature a backlit touch screen that displays easy charging instructions and connector status, thus enhancing user satisfaction. This feature is particularly useful if the charger has been previously reserved by another user.
The technology also ensures maximum operating time by means of independent connector protections.
This initiative is part of the sustainability commitments that CajaGranada Fundación, in conjunction with Cuerva, implements as a tool to combat climate change and promote the energy transition of society in general while providing a service to citizens who have already chosen to use this new type of vehicle.
