The company will be responsible for the installation of low-voltage electrical systems and solar self-consumption connections in the new HE-26 (H135) simulator building at Armilla Air Base, as part of a project promoted by the Ministry of Defence.

This building is designed for the advanced training of pilots at the Armilla Military Helicopter School (Granada).

Granada. 26/08/2025. Cuerva, a leading company in the energy sector, across its entire value chain, and with more than 85 years of experience, is collaborating with Grupo Render to participate in the development of the new HE-26 (H135) advanced simulation centre for the Air and Space Force, carrying out the low-voltage electrical installations, telecommunications infrastructure and connection of a solar photovoltaic self-consumption system for the new simulator building.

This project, promoted by the Ministry of Defence and awarded to Grupo Render Industrial, began last July and is scheduled for completion in January 2026.

A key building for elite helicopter training

The new building, which will house two Mission Simulators and a Mission Trainer, is designed to recreate real flight situations and tactical missions with maximum fidelity, meeting the most demanding standards of tactical training with H135 helicopters. The facility will be completed with Simulation Support Systems (SAS), which are essential for the operation of this training centre..

“Our participation in this project represents a firm step forward in our strategy of technological specialisation applied to critical environments, such as defence and aeronautics. We are proud to contribute to the safety and preparedness of Air Force and Space Force pilots with reliable and sustainable energy solutions,” said Antonio Jesús Ureña Arroyo, project manager at Cuerva.

The complex will be organised into two distinct areas: the northern area will house the bays for simulators and mission trainers, while the southern area, spread over two floors, will contain technical rooms, classrooms and support spaces.

Energy installations at the service of operational precision

Cuerva is responsible for implementing an energy infrastructure adapted to the demanding requirements of this technical-military environment. The project includes:

  • Low-voltage electrical systems, with critical precision and availability criteria.
  • Telecommunications infrastructure, connecting simulation and support systems with the Ministry's operational networks.
  • Photovoltaic self-consumption connection, aimed at improving energy efficiency and sustainability throughout the building.

Technical expertise, experience, and strategic vision

With this move, Cuerva consolidates its ability to tackle complex, large-scale projects in strategic sectors such as aeronautics and defence. Its Smart Services business unit, which specialises in offering smart, innovative and customised energy services and infrastructure, implements high added-value projects where reliability, technical expertise and adaptation to crucial requirements are essential.

The company thus continues its expansion in critical infrastructure and unique projects, putting its knowledge of renewable energy, telecommunications and electrical installations at the service of public institutions, with integrated services focused on efficiency, innovation, and sustainability.
